Tucked away off a quiet lane in an area of outstanding natural beauty you will find Barn Meadow campsite. A small gently sloping field, of just under 4 acres suitable for tents and small campervans, is set aside purely for the benefit of those campers who are looking for the peace and tranquility of the beautiful Sussex countryside.
On the same privately owned farmland, and a little further up the lane, you will find a small children's petting farm and a sanctuary for retired and rescued horses and ponies. Open to the public but must be booked in advance. Lots of footpaths straight off the site including woodland walks.
The campsite is suitable for couples and families. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times as there are sheep in the field.
Facilities: Basic showers, Portaloos, and washing-up sinks, Please note there is no electric hook-up.

Hastings: Set between hills that reach to the sea, Hastings lies some 11 miles to the south and is an oyster that comes with its own grit, where the smooth bustle of modern life rubs along with the rough edges of tradition. Look up and you’ll see the ruins of a medieval castle watching over the town, then gaze along the three-mile seafront which stretches from the old fishing fleet at the eastern end through the hustle and bustle of the arcades and funfair rides, to the pier and unique double-decker promenade aptly called Bottle Alley, arriving finally at peaceful Grosvenor Gardens.
Battle: Only 5 miles away and Named after the Battle of Hastings, the most famous conflict on English soil, this compact market town grew up alongside the tranquil medieval abbey and surrounding ancient woodlands – largely unchanged to this day. Explore the battlefield, Battle Great Woods, the bustling town centre - and beyond with lots of amazing places to eat and drink.
Bodiam Castle: Head north for just 4 miles and you will come across A majestic 14th Century moated castle, with ruined interior and splendid grounds. Take part in various medieval activities, all year round. Admission price covers entry to castle and grounds. Opening hours are 10:30 'til 5pm or dusk if earlier. Please note that last entry to the castle is at approx. 3:20pm during winter.
